Call for Presentations
The Call for Presentations has now closed. However Lightning talks may still be accepted, please contact the organisers if you wish to present a lightning talk.
Topics for presentations could include (but are not limited to)
Samba, Databases, Backups, Firewalls, AAA, Troubleshooting, Buying Decisions, VPN, Virtual machines (Xen, UML, VMware), Monitoring Software, Web/Mail/LDAP/etc Server software, Wikis, PHP, Spam and Virus Filtering, VOIP, Trouble Ticket System, Best Practices, New Developments, Clustering/High Availability , Automated Installs, Automated configuration, Packaging Local Software.
Speakers should assume that members of the audience have at least a couple of years experience in Unix/Linux administration.
Full Presentations should be of a technical nature. However any non technical topic presentations proposed will be considered. Your presentation can be anywhere between 30 and 120 minutes in duration. This includes time for discussion or interaction with the audience.
Facilities will be a lecture with data projector. We request that copies of slides be made available for publication of the Miniconf Website. Please note that presentations may also be recorded and redistributed.
Lightning talks are short talks/presentations that last no more than 10 minutes. This is a good opportunity to introduce a new project or tool perhaps to get some experience with presenting without having to go to a full talk. At the Sysadmin Miniconf it is planned that there will be at least half an hour of lightning talk sessions.
It is intended that the range of topics for lightning talks is broader than for full level talks.

Dates and Deadlines
In order to allow professional Systems Administrators to apply for leave and/or funding from their employer to attend the conference we are attempting to finalise as much of the programme as early as possible. Thus we aim to publish an initial programme at the start of the November made up of papers submitted by the 31st of October.
At that stage we hope to have more than half the programme filled at that date.
Late Sep 2005 - Call for Presentations distributed
31 Oct 2005 - Deadline for early submissions
Early Nov 2005 - First 60% of programme filled from submissions before this date
18 Nov 2005 - Deadline for late submissions
Mid Dev 2005 - Final programme published.
